The New Providence Athletic Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with IRS 501c3, has been started as a community project to raise $2.0 million dollars for two lighted turf fields at New Providence High School.
These fields will be shared for recreation activities, high school sports, and the marching band. The steering committee has done extensive research on this project, and has reached out to the entire community to achieve these goals.
As you know, the need to refurbish our fields has long been a problem. They have deteriorated through the years from overuse and our lack of space to expand. We have continued to add sports teams and our student participation in both athletics and band is so high that maintaining the good condition of the fields has become increasingly challenging, if not impossible. With the quality of today’s field turf, the new fields would benefit all who use them.
As of the Fall 2008, the Leider Field Turf project and Shack renovation has been completed, but we still need to turn on the lights! Please add your name to the list of donors, and make this project a success. You will be giving a lasting gift to the youth of New Providence.
